Money, Murder and Mayhem (Cryptic Cove Mystery #1) von K.P. Stafford
Fun cozy mystery true to the genre, well laid out plot and great characters. My only complaints are that it was a bit too rushed. The relationship builds were rushed, and some of the character development was rushed. Also the final"big reveal" was lackluster. It could have been pizzazzed a bit more, and made seem a bit more real. It was almost not even believable as a plot point.
I liked all the characters. They were fun and engaging. I particularly liked Farley. However, it read like a rough draft. The book was all over the place, excessively stretched out and redundant. For such a short book, it took me over a week to finish it because I kept losing interest. It was that boring and tediously prolonged. It would've been better if the book was more tightly written, 50 pages maximum.
And I wish I knew beforehand that the author is a romance writer because she threw in all the corny tropes that are in romances (my least favorite genre). I found myself rolling my eyes. I detest Harlequin type romances.… (mehr)
