This collection of essays on human evolution by Scientific American is included with an Audible Prime membership and, hey, free is always good. The audiobook is broken into three sections: Where We Came From, What Makes Us Special and Where We Are Going. Each section includes chapters written by contributing authors, including personal favorites such as primatologist Frans de Waal and paleoanthropologist John Hawks, and offers insights into specific areas of evolution and human behavior. Though much of the information were things I’ve already read, it’s always fun to think about how each new discovery revises our story.… (mehr)

This is from a series of books based on Scientific American magazine articles of the 1950s. They discussed topics of rapidly evolving science and technology, and I loved them. There were ten or more books. I owned this one and two or three others.

Titles included, 'The New Astronomy', 'The Physics and Chemistry of Life', 'Twentieth Century Bestiary', Plant Life', 'New Chemistry' and others.

It give clear simple explanations on the different ideas and theories involved in cosmology. However read more like a history of what was accomplished in the discipline over the past couple decades rather than actually helping one to understand this field of science. Made for good reading.
