Rezensionen

This book, albeit an anthology, is one of my favourite alltime poetry books. Almost from one end to another, there are lots of short but excellent poems, of which most of them are not really Traditionalist, but rather simply vitalist. Zaharia Stancu, more than anything else, doesn't feel like belonging to the village or to a certain social class, but rather to the universe. Almost never recycling Traditionalist clichees, although the author was an active presence in the "Gândirea" circle, the poems manage often to have a discrete Modernist edge. Due to his later career in realist socialism, when he'll be overimposed by the communist party and translated in dozens of languages, after his death he hasn't been read very much, and also because his poems are lesser known than his novels. There have been numerous changes in Romanian poetry ever since, so, unfortunately, his poems don't have big chances of gaining lots of fans.… (mehr)

This book is about the way of a gypsy tribe life. This tribe is forced to move "acrros the river" to be in safe. The book describes the way that this "dark people" (gypsies) act in diffrent situations when they are moving to a better life, they hope. I liked the book a lot, I belive that it describes very good the way of a gypsy tribe life, problems they are facing and many others. Is a book which describe a sad story, but if you will read it you will se that all kind of people are the same with the very same problems.… (mehr)
