The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog von Alfred Hitchcock
2022 movie #169. 1927. Very early Hitchcock silent film. The land lady suspects that the new lodger is the killer in a series of murders of blond young women. And he's interested in her blond daughter. Very atmospheric thriller.
A film starring Ivor Novello and June Tripp (Woolf & Freedman, 1927).
An odd man moves into a lodging house during a serial killer scare.
C (Indifferent).
This is definitely more of a silent movie than a Hitchcock movie. Suspense is not there, but there's plenty of melodrama. It does some novel stuff, both in the story and the visuals, but it's only notable in comparison to other 1920's movies.
