Ryan Stegman

This one's a tough one for me. I've actually never like Venom or Carnage...they do nothing for me. On the other hand, Donny Cates has, up to now, done no wrong.

Well, until this.

The page-to-page writing and dialogue is good, for the most part, but this whole thing felt kinda rushed, with several unresolved plot points (where did alternate Reed Richards/Maker go? What the hell happened at the end? What about the powers that manifested in the kid [not sure if it was Dylan or Normie]?) Maybe I should have read the surrounding tie-ins, but sorry, an event collection should be able to stand on its own, and this one did not.

And, while the art was quite good, when it came to distinctive faces? Nope. Dylan and Normie were interchangeable. Not sure if Stegman has actually seen a picture of Peter Parker's face.

So, while there were parts that were great, there were more parts that were not. And overall, I was disappointed.… (mehr)
