While the pictures are beautiful and the book is very clear and concise it does not really provide any additional data (other than the day each animal was created) that you would not find at the zoo you are visiting. Preschool-1st grade children will probably enjoy the "fun facts" section that accompany each section.

For example: Under Alligator, created on Day 6
"an alligator's lower jaw is very weak in comparison to its upper jaw. That is how a circus performer can stick his head inside an alligator's mouth without fear of getting it bitten off."… (mehr)
