Chloe Stowe

Cock Fight by Chloe Stowe starts with a riveting first page in the viewpoint of a cage fighter. From there, it gives you an engaging story of two alpha males starting a relationship while facing the threat of vengeful mobsters. The book has some aspects that didn’t quite work for me. The sex scenes are written to a highly descriptive erotica style that isn’t my preference, and I wish the author had shown rather than summarized two high points of action near the end. However, the appealingly rugged main characters and their hot chemistry make for a good read, and the detailed Baltimore setting is a plus.

Mitch is a sculptor who competes in illegal cage-fighting matches for money so he can take care of his elderly father. Carr is a specialist in providing security to rich patrons of the art world. A concerned art gallery owner who is a mutual friend of both men convinces Carr to take on Mitch as a pro bono client and provide him with protection. However, the mobster for whom Mitch refuses to fight now wants to make an example out of him. Carr and Mitch must find a way to neutralize this threat while starting their new relationship.
