I enjoyed the story. I remember the main events described. However, even when one puts the story through the division formula for all biographies, I wonder how single-minded he really is - or was. I accept that he has the best brain in sports that we have seen in a very long time and I am in awe of his ability to concentrate. I accept that his father was his best friend. What worried me when I first read the book in 1998 was that a steady date did not appear anywhere in the story. Even if I agree that a person's private life is private and should be so, a reference to a steady relationship or two would have made me happier for him. Golf is rarely a team sport and interpersonal relationships are best explored when one is young and in one's teens.
Noting what is happening to Tiger in the late 2009 news outlets, I may have been right to worry for him - and anyone he later became close to. My heart breaks for him and Elin right now and I really hope that the world's news mongers can leave them alone to figure out what is most important for them without the "benefit" of popular opinion.… (mehr)
