The continuing adventures of Anne Shirley in New York and in France during World War I. Gilbert is offered a staff position at a hospital in New York and persuades Anne to go with him, as he has arranged a position for her at a publishing house. Never read this as a kid so it was an absolute pleasure to get lost in this delightful story of orphan Anne Shirley’s life with Matthew and Marilla on their farm, Green Gables. She evolves from the 11 year old chatterbox into the delightful teenager who succeeds at so many things. She is whimsical, irrepressible, emotional, loyal, delightful, frustrating, stubborn, clever, kind and mischievous. Matthew delights in her presence and Marilla grows to lover her deeply.
The writing style is lovely with beautiful descriptions of the flora and fauna of Prince Edward Island.… (mehr)
