Taryn Leigh Taylor

I loved Chelsea's character. Her tendency toward overcompensation ("'I made breakfast.' So. Much. Breakfast." LOL, yes she did...) and babbling when nervous paired with her desire to be a "bad girl" when she's really anything but was endearing. Brett was the perfect hero for her, and their back-and-forth conversation had me LOLing over and over again. And their chemistry? Spot on!

Add in hockey, and really, what more can you want?

Brett's the younger brother of a character from an earlier book by Ms. Taylor (Lainie from Playing Dirty ), which I not only added to my TBR but picked up a copy of before I was much past the 50% mark. So though this was my first book from this author, it definitely won't be my last!

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) We meet Chelsea who was passed over for a position that she was gunning for by her brother who tends to party hard and she is so unhappy that she decides she is going to do something reckless something so unlike her, she is going to have a one-night stand, no names. Brett has been thru the ringer by his ex-wife who was a puck bunny and just out to use him and he has been in the tabloids too often, and now he has just been traded to a new team the Wolfpack and warned that he must behave or they could not resign him. While out in a bar drowning his sorrows he bumps into Chelsea and he decides he will behave tommorrow. These two have an explosive one-night and she sneaks out in the morning they didn't even give each other their names. But they sure do find out who is who, she is the daughter of the teams owner, and he is hockey bad boy..Now what? I have to say that while it wasn't bad I did have to make myself continue, they kept talking about his sister and apparently she had a book previously that explained they added tidbits from, but it made me feel like I was missing some of the story. Then Chelsea drove me crazy with the wanted to be a bad girl but she so wasn't she was a good girl/nerd. And her friend was so judgmental..Anyhoo I did finish it so it can't be that bad or I wouldn't have..Do I recommend? If you have no other books.… (mehr)
