Originally published in 1888. This book is very interesting. It lists recipes for remedies along with the folklore as to why it may work to cure a particular ailment.

One or two paragraphs on each bird and what can be augured from its behaviour.

Poorly printed little book and some of the text was difficult to read indeed. With footnotes, but scant information and no bibliography.

Originally written in 1878, this really is a little book of charms for various medical conditions, as used around the country. It provides a good, if small, selection of superstitious remedies from across the counties, though I doubt any of them are ancient as mentioned in the title.

There is no bibliography, there are numerous footnotes with which the reader can pursue further information.

A quick, entertaining read.
