Myfanwy Thomas

Daughter of Edward Thomas. Edward Thomas was the poet/journalist friend of Robert Frost who perished in WW1. The Frost's, especially the ever prickly Robert did not like some things that appeared in Myfanwy's mothers' Autobiography. A very sad story because it appears to the discerning reader, am I that?, that Helen and daughter were good eggs.
It goes without saying that I love old Frost but this does not mean that I look the other way when he is being a yahoo, or reported as such, of course. The San Francisco-born poet endured much pain in his long life, mental and otherwise. But after 61 years on this veil of tears I am a believer that there are times when one must simply do the right thing. That is, one must put one's feelings aside, no matter how intense, and realize, that if we are, if not all bozos on this bus, human beings who are capable of forgiveness.… (mehr)
