First sentence: There is not much going on around here.

Premise/plot: Lily is loving her "boring" day. Napping seems to be the oh-so-perfect way to spend the day. Tig, her smaller companion "tiger," is BORED, BORED, BORED. Tig wants to have a party. He has everything figured out...or does he?

My thoughts: I enjoyed this one. I absolutely loved, loved, loved the first book. The second book is good just not as good--for me. Lily is adorable being persistent as she tries and fails to invite the other zoo animals to the party. Still I think Lily would have preferred to stay asleep if given a real choice. But parties are always big in children's books...and naps are to be resisted.… (mehr)

First sentence: Snap! Crack! Crunch! Snap! Crack! Crunch! Snap! "It is so great to be home!"

Premise/plot: Tig the cat visits the tigers at the zoo...much hilarity results. Lily, one of the tigers in the zoo's exhibit, KNOWS she is a tiger. But after a confusing (and hilarious) dialogue with Tig (a house cat), Lily is beginning to entertain some doubts. Tig is SO confident, so sure, so dogmatic about being a tiger. Not only does Tig see himself as a tiger, he does NOT think that Lily is a real tiger. Can these two ever become friends?

My thoughts: I thought this one was funny and adorable. I absolutely loved it. Tig was hilarious. Lily was a charmer too.

This is the second in the series and it’s just as fun as the first one. Lily is a tiger and Tig is a cat who live together at the zoo. Lily has never had a party and Tig wants to have one. I’ll Tig has to do is invite all the guests. That’s not very easy to do when you’re considered the top predator of the zoo. This is a beginning chapters graphic novel great for any age but really designed for those in K through two. This series is fantastic and sure to be a hit.

This was a fun elementary graphic novel about Tig and Lily. Tig is a house cat that thinks they’re a tiger and the Lily is a tiger that is now worried they are not really a tiger. These two form a cute friendship that is sure to lead to lots of trouble down the line. I enjoyed this book, but I do feel there is a certain population that might see this as a trans story even though it’s not and start banning it. This book is about acceptance of who you are and how you can be anything you want to be. It’s also about how you have and make friends and how they help you whenever you need it. This story was cute and fun and kids are going to love it.… (mehr)
