Jane Thompson (2) (1927–2016)

Jane Thompson was born Jane Fiske in Champaign, Illinois on January 30, 1927. She graduated from Vassar College in 1947. During and after college, she worked at the Museum of Modern Art. She and Deborah Allen were the founding co-editors in 1954 of Industrial Design. She joined the firm of Benjamin mehr anzeigen Thompson and Associates in Cambridge as a planning associate in 1967, a title she held until 1987, when she was made a partner. She began her own firm, the Thompson Design Group in 1994. She wrote a book with Alexandra Lange entitled Design Research: The Store That Brought Modern Living to American Homes.
