Tiessen communicates well, but the people he quotes do not. I rather philosophical book and not for the faint of heart: deep and complex issues about the providence of God and free will are discussed from many angles and perspectives. Not a light read by any stretch.
Tiessen communicates well, but the people he quotes do not. I rather philosophical book and not for the faint of heart: deep and complex issues about the providence of God and free will are discussed from many angles and perspectives. Not a light read by any stretch.
Tiessen examines the controversial topic of salvation, particularly the salvation of the unevangelized. He broaches the topic through an accessibilist view point (as opposed to an Ecclesioncentric or Relativist view) which posits that "Jesus Christ is exclusively God's means of salvation," and " that God makes salvation accessible to people who do not receive the gospel." Therefore, there are many among the unevangelized (though not all) who were, are and will be saved. Tiessen also broaches the topics of the role of non-Christian religions and how God uses them in His plan of salvation.… (mehr)
