its been awhile since ive read some mainstream narrative history, tho i suppose its not too different from reading the full report of an original ethnography. I guess what i appreciate more abt the latter is that the massive amount of observational data used is retained in notes, and only some demonstrative bits of data r included in the report. I wish mainstream narrative history was a little more like that :/

but it was certainly informative and perceptive! seems to b pretty authoritative on the subject… (mehr)
