This book talks about a town in Morocco that had run out of water. A storyteller tells a boy a story and his cup fills up. The boy saves the city by telling the people in the city the story and the sandstorm. In the end, the whole story of the boy saving the town was itself a story. This book could be geared towards 3rd and 4th graders and share the importance of telling stories to one another. It could pair well with a lesson on personal narrative and having the students write a story about their life.… (mehr)
What a beautiful tribute to the national parks. Having visited many as a kid (Great Smoky Mountains, Yellowstone and Grand Teton, Redwoods) and having just visited another (Haleakala in Maui), I was reminded of just how much I love national parks. The nature. The awe-inspiring scenes.
The illustration techniques used are quite cool--pastel on black paper that he used as he hiked around the parks. What a way to do a book!
