Between the incredibly ignorant statements about science and chapter 3, where the author proves he has NEVER heard the addage "Correlation does not imply causation" this book was a mess. Unfortunately so, because I like the message he was trying to express.
This has to be one of the best and most comprehensive books on why evolving to a vegan society can improve our world.

I had seen Will Tuttle in videos and was turned off by what struck me as an infomercial personality and style. So I was very pleasantly surprised by how good this book is. The book is fundamentally about compassion and ahimsa, and the overall thesis is that if you are authentically compassionate towards your fellow beings, you should then be a vegan. He can be eloquent, and his argument is convincing. In fact I have purchased copies of the book to give to others to read in the hopes that they, too, will benefit from this way of thinking, as well as give benefits to others. There is one chapter and a few other passages that smack of pseudoscience, but they are not enough to undermine his story.… (mehr)

An excruciating read. It goes into full detail of how industrialized animal farming is done--to the animals, fish, chickens.
