Oppi Untracht's interest in crafts began in the 1930's and developed with Fine Arts degrees from New York University and Columbia. Metalwork, enameling, and jewelry are his special interests, and he has both taught and exhibited internationally in these mediums. As a photo-journalist and scholar, mehr anzeigen he has researched and recorded the crafts of many lands, particularly those of India and Nepal. I suspect the hazard information is out-of-date. Otherwise an excellent book with many useful pictures illustrating the techniques discussed.

Aquí aparte de visualizar una muestra suntuosa y con documentación de cientos de piezas, el libro describe la relación íntima entre la joyería y las vidas de la gente de India. La influencia de mito y religión, estructura social, economía y política en la cual todo aclara el contexto qué la joyería ha creado.
Las más de 800 ilustraciones estan obtenidas de diferentes fuentes de todo el mundo.
