Ken Uston (1935–1987)

Uston's book is a classic on card-counting, but slightly out-of-date. Additionally, his count system is hard to use, although it is quite powerful, and the variations from basic strategy are well explained. If you're a serious card counter, it's recommended, but if you're just a recreational player, look elsewhere. The story of Uston and his count teams reads like a novel, though, and that is a redeeming feature, even if you're not a blackjack player.
