Nicolas C. Vaca

Vaca examines relations between Latinos and blacks in the United States, looking at the conflicts between the two ethnic groups. Vaca notes that conflict between blacks and various Hispanic groups has been rising. He tends to make "Latinos" into something of a monolithic group, and not to notice the presence of black Latinos (Dominicans, for example). Still, this is an interesting and worthwhile read, in particular for the way it points out that what is happening between blacks and Latinos is, essentially, ethnic conflict.… (mehr)
