Many ugly encounters with the savage Muslim insurgents categorize the brutality of interracial warfare then and yet no different in current times. Dawlish gets another dirty job, to go to Africa and stop the slave trade. At least, he gets a nice ship, Britannia's latest to carry out the mission. Massacres, mosquitoes, mayhem, and treachery await as he is required to carry out several riverine incursions and an amphibious invasion culminating in a siege.
Competing with the Germans as they try to expand their new Empire challenges his diplomacy as well as his leadership. This series sustains well as we look at a lesser known time period and aspect of Britannia Rules.… (mehr)
