Richard Wadsworth was born in Canton, Ohio, and received his B.S. in mathematics and physics from the University of Texas at El Paso. He then worked as a computer programmer, analyst, and military war-game specialist for the United States Army. Following his retirement, Wadsworth began to study mehr anzeigen U.S. military history in the 19th century -- in effect shifting his emphasis from the study of the most modern weapons systems available to a more primitive time in military technology when the musket, wagon, and horse were supreme.
