Tons of photos and many recipes combine to form a memoir of how Jane Webster (an Australian, wife, mother, chef, Francophile, and entrepreneur) bought an old château in France with her husband in 2005 and moved her family of four young children to the tiny village of Bosgouet in Normandy. They restored the historic 72-room château with the goal of establishing a cookery school, which they opened soon after.

Coincidentally, before I read this book, we had been traveling in the heart of Normandy, and had recently visited several of the towns Jane lovingly describes. That made reading this book all the more enjoyable. But whether or not you’ve been there, this book will make you feel as if you are traveling in the area and visiting Château de Bosgouet. And it’s made me want to investigate her classes and consider spending time with Jane at her French table, where her dreams became reality.… (mehr)

Wouldn't we all love to do something similar to what Jane Webster has been able to do. Dividing her year between Australia and France, owing a home in both countries, the one in France the beautiful château of Bosgouet in Normandy. This is the tale of how the author and her family become French for 6 months of the year. We are shown the markets where they shop, hearing about all the wonderful fresh produce, and at the end of the book Jane Webster shares some of her favourite recipes, using these simple yet perfectly prepared ingredients. The photography is wonderful, and with easily flowing text and just the right mix of personal information about what this one one family has been able to achieve, it made me envious!… (mehr)

This is a delicious book about an Australian woman and her family who relocate to France and restore a Chateau with the aim of running French Cooking classes there. It is a mouth-watering book and when you finish you may feel slightly dissastisfied with your life!
