In reading Heart Medicine, How to Stop Painful Patterns and Find Peace and Freedom--at Last, we learn a title for our distress is hurps: Long-standing, Recurrent, Painful Patterns of hurt. And this book provides examples of lives affected by these.

Through exercises, we are able to put in perspective that symptoms and responses are varied based on the circumstances surrounding the situation and the frame of mind about them.

Throughout the process, Weininger guides us to identify challenges such as the feeling of being betrayed, smothered or ignored, and unwanted.

We may be in a search for gentleness and safety and be recollecting disapproval, criticism, shame, helplessness, loss of control, or a combination of these.

Weininger helps us admit that our thoughts are often tainted by fear, wants, and worries and points out in some cases our influences and triggers can feel like stepping on a booby trap.

The practices help us learn how to be mindful of our emotions and she supplies steps that will help guide us to pause and let things go.

When we have self-awareness, we have the ability to connect with the present moment with the understanding that Heart Medicine is a change that is life-giving.

I received a copy of this book through the generosity of Michelle Fitzgerald, Publicity Director, FSB Associates.
