Space magic with an overabundance of action and what felt like wish-fulfilment and gratuitous name-dropping, counterbalanced by a hefty lack of characterisation. The MC is a variable yield walking talking weapon of, up to, mass destruction. Neither her background nor her character have more depth than a cardboard cutout, and the side characters even less so.

It felt like a weird throwback to a particular brand of (bad) 1950s pulp science fiction.
