The success of his autobiography, England Have My Bones, allowed him to leave teaching after six years and devote his time to writing. Although he wrote a wide array of novels and some poetry, he is best known for The Once and Future King, his four-volume retelling of the legend of King Arthur, which became the basis for both the musical, Camelot, and the Disney film, The Sword in the Stone. White died on January 17, 1964, while returning home from a lecture tour in America. T. H. White hat 2 vergangene Veranstaltungen. (show) Fearless Females Talk | The Mother of Ruin 7PM MONDAY, MAY 6 The Mother of Ruin: Queen Morgause in the Arthurian Legends Dr. Diane Facinelli, Honors Faculty Fellow and Lecturer at Barrett Honors College at ASU, hosts the next talk in the "Fearless Females: The Audacious and Feisty Women of the Middle Ages" series from the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Although a minor character in the Arthurian legend, Morgause's impact on Arthur and the court of Camelot is pivotal. The half-sister of Arthur, sister of Morgan le Fay, wife of King Lot of Orkney and mother of Gawain and Mordred, she has fulfilled and even embraced the role of "Mother of Ruin." Today, she enjoys expanded status as a powerful force for destruction and evil in numerous modern retellings of her brief role in Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur.
