Many members of my family left central Canada to move to the timber lands in the U.S.
My great-grandfather, Hiram Elmer Elsworth Lee, was a timber cruiser in the Blue Mountains of Oregon. He also drove a team of horses with a sledge. This book makes the stories of loggers come to life with many period photos. It was dangerous work.
