Breaking Silence is the story of a mother's journey from an abusive childhood through to the non accidental deaths of her twin son's Chris and Cru Kahui, and a search for justice against a backlash from a judgemental society that didn't want to hear the full story. The July 2012 coroner's report concluded that the children's injuries occurred "whilst they were in the sole custody, care and control of their father". An incredibly sad topic that is all too common in this country. Glad I have read it.… (mehr)

Vitamin D is produced through sunlight on the skin, but we have been sold the slip, slop, slap message. According to Wishart sunscreens may offer protection against the less dangerous “squamous cell carcinoma” but provide no protection at all for the deadly kind: “basal cell carcinoma”. After reading the substantial evidence I'm inclined to stop using sunscreen, continue wearing a hat and sunshirt, avoid sunlight during the midday sunshine peak and possibly try and lie out in the sun first thing in the morning for a short period in order to gain a 'protective tan'. Well researched. The larger font wasn't that great to read and the massive amounts of footnotes often took up a large amount of space.… (mehr)
