Luke Wood

I admire the author for choosing self-publishing over a publishing house. He clearly has a great passion for writing. He tackles some difficult and dark subjects, but as someone who suffered from depression for several years, to me it doesn't feel like it is written by someone who has experienced these emotions. The last line of one poem, written in capitals, seemed really odd - I understand what the author was trying to get across, but it made it seem somewhat less poetic. I have to admit I'm not the biggest poetry fan, but I just couldn't really get into this - perhaps it was the subject matter.
I have lent the book to some friends so they can also review it.
A few notes for the author re: editing - the font changed a bit erratically, and the Foreword was labelled as 'Forward'.

This book was really hard for me to rate. Some of it was a 5 star and others were not. Generally I enjoyed the whole book. Certain writings jumped out there at me and screamed deep emotion and others were like "What?"
Luke Wood was probably my favorite between the two writers but Ray Labuen hit me with a few good ones too...
I didn't care too much for the short stories... I didn't feel a lot of emotion or feeling from them. The actual story line plot was good.. forgiveness and understanding; maybe it moved too fast to the end.
I will keep this book in my library.. It has some wonderful poems..
My favorite poem of them all was the very last one "No Resolution" by Luke Wood. Quote from "Because there is still hope to find resolution."
The Long Road Home was my very favorite from ray Labuen.. he reached out and touched my soul with that one.
