A chapter on each of 27 disasters that occurred in Florida, from the early 1700s to 2010.
As a Florida girl and a gender studies major, I read this with eager anticpations. I was not disappointed. With chapters on Ruth Bryan Owen, Anna Darrow, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Zora Neale Hurston and many others, this is an excellent collection to start one on the path to understand the amazing history of women in Florida. I would recommend for personal reading and for reading by young girls who want to explore their state!
