Karen Tei Yamashita is the author of Through the Arc of the Rain Forest, Brazil-Maru, Tropic of Orange, Circle K Cycles, and I Hotel, all published by Coffee House Press. I Hotel was selected as a finalist for the National Book Award and awarded the California Book Award, the American Book Award, mehr anzeigen the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association Award, and the Association for Asian American Studies Book Award. I Hotel von Karen Tei Yamashita
Almost perfect. Yamashita is such an experimental and post-modern writer. She really questions form and what precisely a novel is within her works. I've been reading her works lately and this series of novellas is a labor of love. That's all I can say. It's changed me and that's the most powerful thing a novel can do for you if that isn't the goal of an author, I don't know what is.
An interesting read, it just did not engage my interest.
