Randi Zuckerberg was an early employee of Facebook where she pioneered live streaming initiatives. She graduated from Harvard University in 2003. Another contender for a Pop Culture Studies addition, but I didn't like this one as much as Steve Antony's Unplugged. Similar theme of online fatigue and how the outdoors can "reboot" life a little bit, and the parallel language of what Dot can do online AND outside was clever.

Dot Unplugged von Candlewick Press

My toddler loves this book! It's shorter and at a lower reading level than the other Dot chapter books. A cute story about a family choosing to find tech-free "unplugged" activities for a rainy day. Bonus points for the cute dog.

Dot Goes Fishing von Candlewick Press

Dot is excited that she is going to spend the day with her dad fishing. She has the perfect gift for catching the biggest fish in the lake. She gives him the Fisherman Joe Fish-Finder. Dot knows this will be a great way to bring home the fish, since every other time her dad comes home empty handed. They pack their fishing rods, dads special sandwiches and bait. Dot and her dad get a little bit more than they anticipated when a giant fish eats their fish finder! Hopefully Dots dads fishing experience will be able to save the day. This book is based on the television series called Dot. I would recommend this for any collection owning others in the series. Dot is a cute likeable character and the story reads well and the chapters are great for beginning chapter book readers. The color illustrations are nice and bright.… (mehr)
