Enneagram personality types
The enneagram is a dynamic model which defines 9 personality types. It can be used to enhance the understanding of yourself and your connections with others. The enneagram is rooted in the motives for our behaviour, the strategies we use; it's about psychology.
Type 1. The perfectionist, gets things done right – regardless of the consequences.
Type 2. The helper, nurtures others’ needs – and demands to be appreciated for it.
Type 3. The achiever, works hard to succeed – but can burn out in overwork.
Type 4. The romantic, explores his or her creativity and deep feelings – but may get lost in them.
Type 5. The observer, craves data, theories and insight – but may forget the human element.
Type 6. The questioner, knows who can be trusted – but can get mighty paranoid.
Type 7. The adventurer, inspires with fun and imaginative ideas – but leaves closure to others.
Type 8. The leader, exercises leadership – but may end up as a vengeful bully.
Type 9. The peacemaker, wants to avoid conflict – but may forget his or her own goals.
This group was started because, surprisingly, there was no enneagram group yet. A large forum about the enneagram exists elsewhere. This group has a smaller objective, it is meant as a meeting place for LibraryThingers with an interest in the enneagram, both those who are already familiar with it as well as for the ones who are new to it.
