- perennialreader: Saw the movie-didn't get it. Read the book-didn't get it. Saw the movie again-got it!Drapetsona: Maybe it's the only book about Maine I ever read. But it is one of my all-time favourites, Irving's best book, and very feministic (if this ever can be said about a male writer). - I don't like the film at all. There's everything missing what makes the book great.
