Über mich
Chris won the ‘Columnist of the Year’ award, sponsored by EDF Energy, for his light-hearted newspaper columns, publicising the disease and cancer issues.

Other projects to raise awareness include writing a newspaper feature on World Cancer Day, in which he received a Guinness World Record for ‘Most Published Newspaper Article’.

The Cancer Survivors Club, his first book was published to inspire and encourage everyone touched by cancer. His second book, ‘Bad Cells’ is a collection of his witty and thought-provoking newspaper columns.

More recently Chris filmed an investigative documentary for BBC television. Using hidden cameras he exposed someone who targeted vulnerable cancer sufferers on internet forums.

Chris Geiger had to endure two years of cancer treatment, which included a number of operations, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant before he was finally in remission.

He is currently developing another television project and has started research for his next book; which will be looking at the myths and merits of complementary cancer treatment. Having located over 2,000 alleged ‘cancer cures’, from the common to the rare, dangerous to the expensive. Chris is investigating if any of the claimed cures do really work – or whether vulnerable cancer patients are simply being taken advantage of by those wanting to make a quick financial gain.
