Über mich
Eastern Edge is a non-commercial artist-run centre committed to exhibiting Canadian and International Contemporary art in diverse media, including visual, audio, interactive, performance, film and video, installation, and new technologies. The centre actively supports contemporary exhibitions and activities from feminist perspectives, diversity, inclusivity as well as actively encouraging and supporting dedicated, rigorous activity in the contemporary art community of Newfoundland and Labrador. The gallery is a supportive space for art, which explores new and challenging ideas, questions, concerns, awareness, and sensibilities. Eastern Edge facilitates critical dialogue surrounding issues in contemporary art and society. The Board of Directors remains fully committed to the highest standards of professional treatment of artists, in all aspects of the centre's activities. The gallery pays artists exhibition fees based on National recommended fees. Eastern Edge offers support, professional development, a sense of community, information and resource-sharing, and a meaningful context for contemporary artistic activity.
