I grew up in a small town in Utah but now live in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley, near Corvallis. I Saw the Elephant is the first book of a trilogy describing the adventures of Betsy Loveless.

I chose the pen name, Elizabeth Iola Loveless, as a tribute to my Loveless ancestors who settled in Southern Oregon during the 1870s. For the same reason, I christened the main character, Betsy Loveless. My actual name is TA Thurston.
