My SO set me up with this LibraryThing thing. I mainly post under his name...who has to remain anonymous...for political reasons...but sometimes here. He used to be a prof until he met me - he mainly studies me now :-).

My ratings are 3 or above because I don't waste time on books that suck - except when its required reading for school...gag. Sometimes I'll buy a book because of a particularly luscious binding or paper - the senses are where it's at!

Back in school after Burning Man...after spending a month at a nudist commune in Majorca...after sailing from Barcelona to Palma...after spending a month dogging at Cap d'Agde. Studying now but preparing for Confest...yeah. Can you say mud bath?

I grew up partly on a sailboat and lived all over...living ferally when we weren't on the boat. We were in the states two years ago doing a road trip in a knackered old v-dub combi...where I met my current lover in Charlottesville! I was home schooled ( I speak and can read and write in over ten languages ) and graduated high school when I was twelve. Then I did underage porn in Japan and other Asian countries ( where it was legal!!! ) until I was eighteen and have now gone mainstream. I am revealing this because I want to shove it up your moralistic ass.

I like movies but I hate American TV cuz of the commercials - sitcoms are pathetic bourgeois morality plays except Seinfeld which is refreshingly nihilistic. I don't own a cell phone (except a prepaid crapper for emergencies) cuz its a dog leash and I'm not a dog. I also like to draw, write, and photograph.

Burning Man was cool - at least something of the 60s still lives in America - perhaps there is hope. You do have UVA - the first secular university in the Western world and Jefferson - your first and last atheist president. Of course you showed your true colors by building a church and opening a religious studies department the second his body was cold...and there was that little incident of running a professor off campus because he was Jewish...land of the free - although you did legalize recreational use of marijuana in some states and gay marriage finally...to the rage of all your right wing filth...and you did elect a bi-racial MAN...good on ya...let's see if you have what it takes to elect a woman...you didn't. You elected a three time married pedophile pornstar ( he had sex with a 13 year old at a sex party and did Playboy videos ). You're all hypocritical religious wackos.

Now I'm reading for a Literae Humaniores degree at Oxford. I was accepted at Harvard (I only applied because my SO insisted), but who wants to go to a pretend Oxford when you can go to the real thing...America is Disney World...pretend everything. You even have a pretend democracy...you elected Trump you fucking morons. You're afraid of a woman...ha ha. Your 'red' states contribute 36% to your GDP and have the highest drug addiction rates. 77,000 drug addicts elected your president while he lost the popular vote by 3 MILLION votes. You're electoral college was set up so you could maintain your system of slavery. How's that working for you? Don't preach morals to me.

What you have is what's called Inverted Totalitarianism...look it up sub-genius.

With a few notable exceptions, undergraduate education in the states is a joke. Most of the morons that matriculate in these schools are only interested in getting a job not an education. Look at the complaints about having difficulty reading Jonathan Israel's book Revolutionary Ideas.

So I am bigoted...so what? You're either too stupid or PC to have an opinion. My life is all about pleasure...according to my definition which also includes random acts of kindness - nuf said. If you're reading this and reacting negatively, thank god filth like you no longer predominate - the greatest accomplishment of mankind is atheism. God is an orgasm. That is what Teresa of Avila discovered: 'Christ has no body but yours.' Who are we to disagree?

PS: My SO is an ex-fundy. I've trolled some of the religious groups here for a while just out of curiosity...talk about puerile stupidity. Don't assume LibraryThingers are de facto intelligent or literate. The average religious person struggles to get through a Harlequin romance novel.

I've tried to discuss theology oriented books on some of the discussion groups here on LT, but none of them had actually read the books nor had them in their libraries. All I got was pious pontification and mansplaining about how my exegesis of biblical passages was erroneous even though they were based on world renowned scholars' views. Apparently, only fundy spittle drooling Christians understand the 'true' meaning of the bible because they have a personal relationship with a character in a book. The human mind has this wonderful ability to empathize with fictional characters...that is why we like reading novels....but please...I am not mentally ill enough to confuse fiction with reality and believe that a dead Jewish terrorist came back to life after three days and I can have a 'personal' relationship with him.
