Many of the books came with the house I purchased in Alabama. The previous owner was a black librarian and educator, born in Mississippi in 1906. She was well educated as documented in the Who's Who Among African Americans, and was a founding trustee in the Freedom to Read Foundation among her many accomplishments. I wish I'd met/known her, but her legacy continues. Some of her books have her editing marks in them. A few of the books have book review inserts from the publishing company. A few have brief dedication inscriptions signed by the authors or friends on the inserts.
