Julie Cabitto is convinced a stack of adventurous books and chocolate bars is the best way to avoid insanity. As a child, her summer vacation ambition was making the best fort to read books in.

Her favorite pursuit is finding Virginian places referenced in deeds and old maps, then off she goes with her husband Aaron to find it. They take their cameras and have a picnic. Libraries and archives are her favorite places to visit. She’s researched Virginia history and her deep Virginia roots for 29 years.
