Über meine Bibliothek
About my library I am the librarian at Baker Demonstration School in Wilmette, IL. I work with amazing Pre-K through 8th grade students. My library is fantastic, well-funded and has over 23,000 volumes in it. It is a friendly and fun place to be when kids are in the library working, reading, sitting in the comfy chairs, or writing poetry on the poetry board. My goal is to get children excited about reading, create an environment that encourages curiosity, teach children how to be information literate and instill a love for being life-long learners. I'm quick to laugh and will talk with anyone who wants to discuss books.

I also work at Glenview Public Library as a reference and reader's advisor librarian.

Make my day: Ask me to recommend a good book!
Über mich
I've been a librarian for 17 years, after graduating from Rutgers University with an Master's in Library Science. I love being a librarian, reading, and working with children of all ages. I look forward to going to work everyday, and enjoy helping students and patrons of all ages.

Committees I served on:

--Abraham Lincoln Book Award Reading Committee (3yrs)
--America Library Association's Best of the Best Committee
--North Suburban Library System's Advisory Council to the Director.

Here's my 15 seconds of fame --
School Librarian of the Year, 2005 (North Suburban Library System)

I am one of the 100 women profiled in the book, Be Happy At Work: 100 Women Who Love Their Jobs and Why, by Joanne Gordon.

Little Known Fact About Me: When I was a young girl I put pockets and check-out cards in my Nancy Drew books. Surprisingly, I didn't consciously know I wanted to be a librarian until I was in my late '20s.
