Über michProfessionally James Keeline is a Drupal/LAMP web developer and has been working in that field since 2000. Before that he was a full-time antiquarian bookseller in a shop that specialized in old children's books, one of his primary collection areas. He is also an expert on several areas of children's literature, especially juvenile series books and the Stratemeyer Syndicate in particular.
James is writing a biography of Edward Stratemeyer, the creator of many important children's series, including Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Tom Swift; he is also finishing work on a Series Book Encyclopedia. In addition, he has written numerous articles on books and book collecting, including for Firsts Magazine and Fine Books and Collections Magazine.
Kim Keeline has a Ph.D. in English (main interest: Shakespeare and his time) and shares many of James' reading and collecting interests, although she reads more mysteries than he does. She does freelance work for authors and nonprofits, mostly in web design, social media, and marketing content. You can see her work (and her fiction writing) at her website: www.kimkeeline.com

For reviews, the ranking is vaguely like this:
5 Stars: Loved It
4 Stars: Really Liked It
3 Stars: Liked It
2 Stars: Didn't Like It
1 Star: Why did I read this?!
Note that if we keep a book, one of us probably liked it (or we collect the category and don't wish to part with it because of the group) so our ratings will be skewed a bit to the top rankings.
Also note, there are two of us actively using this account so a rating or review may only represent the opinion of one of us; we don't always agree on all books plus we do read different things so a book may be loved by one and never read by the other. It happens. If a book is not reviewed or ranked, it doesn't mean we haven't read it, of course; it just means we've not ranked or reviewed it.
Über meine BibliothekEvery book in our LibraryThing is one we actually own (indeed, in many cases you are seeing the scan of our actual copy's cover).
