Über mich

I have always been an avid reader, even as a child. I always have at least one book going, and generally 2 or 3 at any given time. Because of a crazy work schedule, I don't get to read nearly enough as I would like, but I make as much time as possible.

As a former (and hopefully future) elementary/middle school teacher, I have an affection for young adult/adolescent novels. As far as grown up books, my taste really runs the gamut. I adore histoical fiction, I read a lot of mysteries/suspense, and will give anything a try if it sounds like it will keep my interest. I also allow myself the occasional romance novel and chic-lit books, but try to balance those out with a heavier read.

My biggest problem as a reader is that if a book doesn't grab me within the first 20 pages or so, I'll probably put it down and never pick it back up. I'm constantly on the lookout for new books and recommendations for good ones I may have missed.
