I began A Brush With Fame in 2009. I'd always thought about what it would be like to meet someone famous and what if he liked me. What would it be like to be dating in the limelight? And since that firsthand experience wasn't going to happen, I decided I'd write about a heroine who has it happen for her. How does she handle it? How does she get past his fame and see him for who he really is—just a man who wants to be loved for who he is, too?

I wanted a couple with which the reader can see why they love each other and are meant to be. So when outside elements are thrown at them, the reader sees how they face them together based on their strong foundation. I don't want to waste my readers' time with unnecessary arguments on every page, which are temporarily resolved with sex, but remain long term. I need to believe the couple I'm reading about are in love and have something more than sex to hold them together through rough times. If I need that for myself, then I'm going to write about it. I want the reader to fall in love with Evan and Rafaella and desire to read it over again. The book was written for myself, and I regularly reread it—both to keep it fresh in my mind, and because I love their story. They are just meant to be.

Now, I have three more novels I've finished. Two are published, and one is being edited. Edge of Eighteen is a new adult summer camp romance, Heart Wreck is a summer vacation contemporary romance, and Love Act (not yet unpublished) is a celebrity contemporary romance.

I can't go without an iced latte, so I make one with my espresso maker every morning and night.

One of my hobbies is to conduct regular searches for Betsey Johnson jewelry in the discount stores.

Always thought I'd be a photographer, and I used to be hired to take wedding and senior photos.

Disneyland is my favorite place on Earth, and my son and I traditionally go once a year (sometimes more).

I was a competitive gymnast in my early years; ruined my feet and knees doing it. After my son was born, I learned to tap dance.

I'm an adoptee who searched during college and found my entire birth family still living in the same city where I was born.

I've worked with children of all ages and have a degree in family studies.
I spend much of my time either driving my son to soccer practices or watching his games.

And I write about couples who most are envious of because they want what they have—a love worth fighting for. There are too many bad boys in this world, and I want to write about a hero that is worthy of the heroine's love—qualities I hope my son will exhibit, and that way, treat the love of his life right.

I think people love to read romance because everyone loves to be in love.
