Über meine Bibliothek
A collection of books acquired over more than 50 years. I'm cataloguing them for four reasons:

1. To check what I have, and in the process put them in some sort of order
2. To avoid buying duplicates
3. To flag the ones that can be sold, given away or dumped as the inevitable pruning approaches
4. To avoid wasting time looking for the ones already sold, given away or dumped.

In view of no. 4 above, the list already includes a few books I no longer possess, mainly out-of-date textbooks which no-one wants.

"Comments" include National Library of Medicine classification where available, which seems to be used by many other medical libraries. If a medical book is not in the National Library of Medicine, I have found the book in a British medical library using Copal, and then the Comments include the library which gives the classification.

So far I have worked through one complete bookcase (the one next to the computer) and have added other titles which I don't want to lose, sell or give away, at least not yet.
