Über meine Bibliothek

I have so many books I once organized them by color. It seemed more fun than painting the walls. Sadly, the color I remember is the color that appears on the front cover, not the color of the spine. Those two colors are often the same, but frequently different, so finding books became a struggle. Now I organize books by room - writing books in the office, fiction in the family cave, cookbooks in the dining room, etc.

Über mich

Writer of things ranging from optical network switching white papers to genetic testing patient education materials to historical fiction set in an 1880s asylum. Started grad school at the profound age of Parent to a High Schooler to get my MLIS.

I also have a blog, Caterpickles. In the early days, I used Caterpickles to chronicle the crazy questions a curious preschooler asks (and the experiments that naturally follow from them) such as:
• "Are caterpillars ticklish?" (the question that started it all)
• "What else pops balloons, Mommyo?"
• "Could a T. Rex lift a woolly mammoth?"
• "When Santa goes on vacation, do the elves get to go too?"
But when she hit middle school, my daughter asked me to stop talking about her there, so now I mostly write about books, my own curious questions, and what it's like to work in a public middle school library.
