We are pack rates in my family... so I keep every book I have ever been assigned to read or given whether or not I liked it, loved it, or loathed it. My goal in life is to have a house filled with books. A room that anyone can enter and declare: Yup, I think she is a reader. With a big comfy chair, a tall lap, and walls lined with books. So many books that it appears that all the furniture in the room is held up by books. I have books I have never read and books that I can't seem to stop reading.

My mother likes to say I was fated to be an English major and I tend to agree. She lined my cradle with books that she turned the page on once a day. She gave me my first copy Shakespeare's The Tempest when I was seven. And created a monster. I am the one at your work always reading on her break. The friend who always has a pile of books to recommend you. I preach the Gospel of Jim Butcher, William Shakespeare, Sylvia Plath, and Octavia Butler.

And my not so secret dream is to one day have one of my books on one of your shelves.
