- Über meine Bibliothek
- I'm taking a somewhat different tact with this site, starting with a 'day one' approach where I'll add books as I read them, rather than trying to recreate my own library (apart from a few favorite biographies that I can't resist sticking on the shelf).
- Über mich
- Award-winning biographer Brian Jay Jones spent nearly two decades as a writer, speechwriter, and public policy analyst, serving elected officials at three levels of government, including nearly ten years in the United States Senate. Despite this background, he continues to write non-fiction.
Brian's work is noted for its seamless blending of research with an engaging, highly-readable narrative voice. His writing has been praised not only for its scholarship, but for its "grace, wit and empathy," and a "chatty, charming, and irreverent style."
Brian's first book, Washington Irving: An American Original, has been hailed as the definitive portrait of the 19th century American writer and celebrity -- and the first true biography of the writer in more than 80 years. The New York Times called it "charming," the Associated Press thought it "authoritative," and Michael Dirda of The Washington Post Book World declared it "a fine biography -- engaging, clearly written and well researched." Which pretty much made Brian's year. - Ort
