moving to a different city every year makes it difficult to accumulate books; i tend to ask myself "can i find this in a local public library if i really want to read it again?"

keeping books once they are read is like keeping trophies - thus my "library" is really just books that i picked up cheap and haven't gotten around to reading yet, or else the books that i love so much i always want to own (or books that i like a lot that are rare and not easily found).
